I have a Craftsman garage door opener. The door opener will work when I hold the wall mount button down until it is completely opened or shut. And it will open and shut by using the key pad after entering the code and holding the ener button down. It will NOT work using the remote controls Any help would be appreciated

Ok I can think of three things that would do this. One is a bad receiver on the drive or the antenna or the wrong security access code on the remotes/receiver. Could also be bad batteries in the remotes.
I'm assuming that you have more than one remote and both are producing this result. So that means they cannot communicate with the base. If you get one that works and one won't then the remote would be bad or just have bad batteries. You could have both batteries go at the same time which would mean you have the same luck as I do with the stupid thing ;-].
I would think your problem is going to be that you do not have the correct security code setup. When this doesn't match they don't talk to one another. This is basically so that someone can't just drive down the street pressing remotes to see whose door opens. That was pretty common on old systems. With the security pin code set it has to match exactly or nada.
You should be able to use the remote by just entering the same code as the wired pad code. That should then open the door. If not you may need to press the learn button on the main box and set the code.
Hi glaze.... be sure that the batteries in your remote are good. If in doubt, replace them. That alone may fix it. If not, reprogram the remote. To do that, take the remote into the garage, use a ladder to get up to the rear of the opener motor. You will see a button there. push the button and the light will blink. while it is blinking, push the button on the remote. This action will program the remote.
Have you tried the reset button that should be located on the garage door motor itself. That would be my first recommendation. Secondly you might want to try a new remote if the reset doesn't help. Thank you, Lee

Now go outside and test it. Joe
