I have a Cub cadet LT 1024 which will not start. The solenoid clicks like it is trying and lights will come on but that is only reaction. Battery is brand new and hooked up properly

Solenoid clicks, only tess you the coil is working inside the solenoid. disconnect cable from battery to starter. with ohm meter check for continuty across main terminals of solenoid while holding key to start. if no continuity, solenoid is defective.
