I have a Cuisinart DLC 2014. The motor spins when the unit is empty, but if 'any' food is either placed in the bowl or dropped through the tube, it stalls and stops. I went to Cuisinart and their only answer was for me to ship it there and back at my expense and then pay for the repair. It would cost more than the unit is worth
You are correct for the clutch mechanisum has grown weak stalling out your Cuisinart. Replacing it will be a most better investment than having it repaired
An automatic, temperature- controlled circuit breaker in the motor ensures complete protection against motor burnout. If the processor runs for an exceptionally long time when chopping, mixing or kneading a thick or heavy mixture in successive batches, the motor may overheat. If this happens, the processor will stop. Turn it off and wait for the motor to cool off before proceeding. It will usually cool off within 10 minutes. In extreme cases, it could take an hour.
