I have a Dometic RM 2510 refrigerator and the freezer door will not stay shut, flops open when ever you close it. There is no tension on the door like there use to be
Its the seal that holds the door closed all the way as well as the hinges you can try to use vaseline or petroleum jelly on the seals lube the seals allthe way around then close the door and tape it closed for at least two hours sometimes this will bring the seal back if you have tears or clumps in the door seal it isnt even worth to do this step you would have to order new door seals for your frigerator if after the two hours when you remove the tape this should let the suction come back into the seal if it is wholely intacked. you should also check your door hinges to assure that the amount of weight that has been put on the door throughout the years has not bent the hinge downward but most of the time after you use the petroleum jelly it willbring back the seal if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations in the future Thanks Rick
The problem is the door gasket ..which is magnetic and hold the door closed..if for some reason the magnetic properties are lost it is not doing the job proper and need to be replaced.. here is a link for the exact model replacement kit ..that comes with instruction and replacement materials.. http://www.rvpartscenter.com/productdetail.asp?PID=41932
