I have a Dyna=Glo model RMC-40ngt. I can get the pilot to light, but when I turn the knob to the on position, the pilot goes out. What am I doing wrong?

CHANCES ARE YOUR GAS VALVE IS DEFECTIVE. THE SAFEGUARD PURPOSE OF THE VALVE IS TO PREVENT GAS FLOW IF THERE IS ANY REASON THE SAFETY FACTORS DON'T CHECK OUT RIGHT.
