I have a eurotech condenser tumble dryer (EDC158). Machine is approximately 5 years old but it was in storage and not used until 1 month ago. 2-3 weeks (15-20 loads) it worked fine. Now it will not start and indicates the water tank needs to be emptied. The machine is set up to dump the water outside. I laid the machine down on its side and water ran out of it and it worked for a load. Hoses not blocked, no lint or dirt. Took the back off everything looks okay. I am thinking it maybe the drain pump or a sensor, even though it's only been used a short time. How can I test the pump? Do I have to remove all of the back panel? Of course, its over the warranty period
Hello in order to get at the drain pump you could do this in two different ways the first if you have a separtion panel located on the front of your unit you would disconnect the screws holding this panel in place and remove that lower panel if you unit does not have this lower panel then you would goto the rear of the machine 3 screws that hold on upper cover remove these and slide the top cover back and remove the top cover the next step would be to unscrew the bolts that hold the control in place and disconnect the control connections mark where each went so you do not forget after removing the control you would then open the door and there is a metal ring that holds the rubber bellows to the door you would use a flat screwdriver to pry this away from and slide it around ina clockwise direction which would unseat the metal ring then you would unseat the rubber bellows to where it is connected on the front panel. after this you would disconnect the door switch assembly by unscrewing the screws holding it in place as well as any other screws that go around the inside door panel area. next you would go back to the control area and you should see 4 screws sometimes 5 that go across the top that hold the panel down note on some units there are also two located down the bottom on others there are just clips that hold the bottom in place remove the panel now diagonaly and outward. to test your pump take a extension cord and cut off the female end and add two cclip electrical connectors you have now made a powered jumper wire remove the pump out of the machine plug in the connector end to the pump itself and then plug in the extension to an outlet and this is how you can bench test as they put it your pump if you have any further questions message me back I await your reply Thanks again Rick
If you have already tried to clean the drain pump-filter assembly located inside the bottom panel and the problem is not solved then you will have to replace the drain pump. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
You will have to take out the bottom front panel and then clean the drain pump filter assembly. You can test it for 120vYou will have to take out the bottom front panel and then clean the drain pump filter assembly. You can test it for 120v
