I have a flat screan and when i turn it on i get a bunch of lines and cant see the picture . i have to turn it on and off several time and it will work eventually after 15 min. or so .. how do i fix it?

When I turn on the tv it goes straigt to DVD mode and reads in blue (18G1W016 FACTORY) it won't go away. How can I fix this??
Do you have cable or are you getting channels over the air? Is your TV digital ready? Do you have a digital converter?
If there is an option for setting the formatting to NTSC or PAL, check that you have the correct one selected.
PAL is European and NTSC is North American.
