This one is real easy first off make sure you use good quality cables and hook it into a decent sound card I would avoid the usb connection especially if you have a lot of other usb stuff plugged in.
Then dump the software that came with it and get a copy of "Goldwave" or some other quality software.
I use goldwave to record OLD 78 rpm records which are really bad at throwing up noise. goldwave has filters that you can apply after you have finished recording These are superb at getting rid of hiss crackle pops and a whole heap of other stuff. Its also pretty simple to use. I have tried other software but keep coming back to goldwave. It also has some fancy tricks up its sleeve too if you want to get creative
