I have a Frigidaire front loading heavy duty electric dryer (older model). It is taking way too long to dry clothes (more than 1 hour for towels). Could it be the exhaust needs to be cleaned? Or something else? Thank you
The first thing to check is the venting. You can go outside of the house and while the dryer is running and put your hand up against the where the hose comes out. You should feel a steady blowing of hot air coming out. If not let us know and we can tell you what to do next.
You can also check to see if the clothes are hot when they come out. If not, this would indicate a different route to finding the problem.
