I have a GE Refrig Mod # GSS25JFMD. I changed the board and the heater and did as much research and trouble shooting before I replaced these parts. The heater and the board were not working, and the heater was open. What concerns me is in the instructions for the board replacement, it states to Open the lead in the harness by cutting the wire @ P-2 . This would eliminate the function of the thermistor and determine defrost strictly on the T-stat. The T-stat is rated @ 140. Wouldn't that be a Tad High for the defrost system to terminate at. I don't do this everyday, so maybe I'm missing something?
