First check the fuse ,if blown out replaced it,,, second the switch may be defective or the cable may be defective third is power ic may be defective in the unit .
Please connect it other power let and check if it does not power on.Give it to a service center to fix the issue ..........
Dear robert, It seems there is problem with your VCR's power section, just check the Fuse if its burnt then change it ,if Fuse is ok then you have to sent this VCR at Authorised Service centre,to rectified this Power Problem.

Sounds like a blown fuse...check that first.
