I have a golf caddy battery that won't take a full charge
I have heard that you can shock batteries with a super charge, or brief short, that will de-scale the lead plates and allow the battery to take a full charge again. Is this true, how can it be done safely. Don't want the thing to explode.

That is untrue, no such thing, have the battery tested, if it won't charge then it is defective, the only success I have ever had with a battery that won;'t charge is to leave it on a trickle charger for 24 hours.
