I have a GPX D1816 DVD and the picture will either freeze without unfreezing in the very beginning or some time in the movie. I also can't get any of the buttons to work with the commands except for the remote seems to work fine. I also noticed when I unplug the DVD when I can't get anything to work it will reset itself to where the remote control will work again and the movie will play but not all the time. What is happening??

This means that you will need a new DVD player soon. the logic controller for the DVD
is not responding to the command set that the remote is sending.
correct this is on the main board and the IR ( infra receiver) is connected to it to control function such as tray ejection, volume control, menu selects from the remote
etc.
