I have a guardian quietpact 40g that seems to be running fine. All of a sudden the power dies but the generator is still running smooth. The ciruit breaker on the front is not tripped. I have checked the power right on the wires coming out of the generator. 2 days ago it just started working again as I was looking at it and it ran fine yesterday. Then today bam....no power again. Any advise?

This is likely a problem with the voltage regulator or the wiring. If this unit has brushes/sliprings for field excitation check the condition of those.
