I have a hampton bay ceiling fan which will only run on the fast speed. I have changed switches but still only the fast speed. I have touched each wire to the load wire to see if it was the swith but no luck. The salesman said it might be the capacitator which they do no sell. Any suggestions?
Ceiling fans are pretty much a disposable item now days, when they go, they just get replaced, not repaired. You have something burned out in the switch or the Capacitor?? I would think that if the capacitor on the motor went bad, it wouldn't work at all, the 3 speed switch is just a little thing inside the lamp housing, It can probably be found at the hardware store. Hope this helps.
Hello Brother, Installation: Hang your ceiling fan on the Quick Connect fan bracket and wire the ceiling fan according to the manufacturer's instructions. The three wires coming from your ceiling should match the three wires coming from your ceiling fan: black (positive or hot), white (neutral or negative) and green (ground wire).
Use the high, medium and low keys on the remote to adjust the Hampton Bay fan speed, then use the light key to dim the light and the off key to turn off the fan.
For REMOTE CONTROL FANS you cannot use with any variable speed or slide wall switches. The remote control function must be used with on & off switch outlets only.
