Unfortunately if that is the case it is either a dirty condenser coil, or it could be a failed compressor. if it is a dirty compressor coil a service probably will do. If the compressor has failed then there won't be much you can do with it.
Hi, If the fan is running and the compressor is not then you probably have a problem with your compressor. The fact that the fan is running says that your t-stat is working and the contactor is pulling to start the fan and it should be starting the compressor as well. You can try to shut everything down by raising the t-stat to a temperature were the condenser will shut off After 10-12 hours try to start it again... it may work...but usually only temporarily... You will need to have some sertified to handle refrigerants come and check out the unit....
