I have a janome memory craft 11000 It was given to me by my auntie who died. When I first used it it was great but now the thread keeps breaking I have not changed any of the settings. Can you help?

Your machine: 11000 "Lint has collected in the bobbin holder"

As I read YOUR manual... I see absolutely NOTHING ON OIL (incredible to me).
One thing I do remember from the middle of the last century... as my mother spent MANY HOURS making the majority of our clothes... patching, altering and YES... even those feed sacks (chickens & goats (mostly))... MASTERFULLY designing & executing her own designs... Tailoring second hand suits to fit my father's big broad shoulders.
Was the EVER PRESENT Sewing Machine OIL (Singer... actually)
JANOME: Awesome machine... Thank you for the opportunity to experience modern sewing... Pretty impressive.
Troubles & suggestions are on about page 104 of YOUR manual... 2nd ISSUE on the trouble shooting list... "thread breaks..."
I know I am a bit old fashioned,,, but I always recommend reading THE BOOKS before stabbing at SOLUTIONS...
(in my less than humble opinion (all of this))...
If you do decide to oil anything COMMENT ME back: I will point you to a modern synthetic that is VASTLY superior to that gluey old "3 in 1 oil"
or look for "Liberty" synthetic on AMAZON. (I use sparingly on tape transports & clocks (& my Schrade & Old Timer lock blades too... (those blades pivot smoother than a SENATOR in a lite lobby breeze)))...
If your machine is one of the "modern" computerized machines, please REFRAIN from oiling unless instructed in the manual. Improperly oiling a computerized machine could stop it dead in its tracks!!!If your machine is one of the "modern" computerized machines, please REFRAIN from oiling unless instructed in the manual. Also, install a brand new needle that is compatible with the thread and fabric you are using. Old needles become dull, bent, or damaged that affect the way the machine operates.

Good to know... I read the manual
(no mention of oil: brush & vacuum only)

If you are using the thread that came with the machine get new thread as old thread breaks easily
