I have a Jayco trailer with a Coleman 7300 Rooftop air conditioner. The unit is 13 years old and it doesn't put out the cold air it used to. I have cleaned the filter which improved the air flow however still not blowing cold air. Is it time to replace the air conditioner or is there something I can do to fix it
Hi,from your problem its obvious that the problem is from the compressor.its bad and needs a replacement, however this requires the services of a technician and it will cost you a lot of money, however in the nearest future another problem may arise from the board as a result of the old age of your trailer,as a suggestion,i will advice you get a new air conditioner because the cost of servicing and repairing this unit from time to time might sum up to the cost of purchasing a new air conditioner, subconsciously.
If you don't want to replace your ac with a new one, then go ahead and replace the compressor, that's where the problem is,if you ar technically inclined go ahead and do it yourself, but please be careful.
Good luck

It can be repaired. I suggest you have the coils in the unit cleaned by a professional and have the refrigerant checked. Sounds like it may have a leak and be low of refrigerant. The leak will need to be repaired if possible and the unit recharged. This requires a professional with the skill and tools to do it right. Compare the price of repairing it with purchasing a new unit. If the price to repair this 13 year old unit is 50% of the price of a new unit, then buy a new unit as something else may go wrong in the near future. Every appliance has a life span and you are near the life span of this unit. But that also depends on how often the unit was used which only you know. If it was used very little then the lifespan will be longer.
That may be your best choice. I would appreciate a good rating. Have a great week. That may be your best choice. I would appreciate a good rating. Have a great week.
