I have a k40-7 CB radio lights work but no receive or transmitt. Just a low hiss when powered on that gets louder when I key the mic. I don't have the stock mic could this be the problem?

Yes , It sounds like an internal problem.take it to a tech or send it back.They will probably ask you to describe what its doing .
