I have a Kenmore dehumidifier that the compressor would not start up on. After taking the case completely off, it started. When I put the case back on I noticed it sparking, and subsequently noticed the coils were electrified. I'm guessing there is a short somewhere, but I can't find any cut wires etc. Any advice?
I should check for a short from one of the compressor terminals to the compressor's outer case. (should be infinate resistance from all terminals to case. If any = get a new dehumidifier: repair = cost prohibitive)
