I have a Kenmore washer (417.44082400), which is displaying alternately the following information: ERR LOC 37 The 37 indicates the usual minutes for our customary Permanent Press cycle. When Start is pressed, nothing happens other than the alternating information above. mlsgsw

The LOC code merely means the control responded and locked the door. You'll find a tech sheet under the top panel of the machine to help guide you thru the diagnostic process, which is fairly involved.
LOC means it thinks the control panel is locked. This gives the ERR indication when you push the buttons. To unlock it you need to hold down the Options and Select buttons together until it reacts.
I know this may seem silly but - On the top right back corner of your washer hit it with medium force with your fist, this helps.

Funny, I had unplugged my washer and waited 10 minutes...plugged it back in still had loc code after pressing options and select buttons together and holding down a dozen times still blinking setting time and loc....then I read to firmly hit it on the back right corner and lo and behold this did the trick!
