Does it seem like it's perhaps overheating and the thermal protector on the motor is cutting it off and after it has time to cool off it start back running?
Take the back off to access the motor area and feel of the motor after it has stopped running to see if it' hot. TURN IT OFF IN CASE IT STARTS RUNNING WHILE YOUR HAND IS IN THERE. If it's too hot take the belt off and let the motor run without it through the wash cycle to see if it gets hot running by it's self. Also check to see how hard it is to turn the pulley, idler pulley , the transmission and the brake. In case one of them is causing the motor to overheat.
