I have a Kitchenaid gas Stove with a self cleaning oven. We cleaned the oven last week and afterwards the readout read "doorlocked" even after it cooled down. When we hit cncel it just beeps and when we push bake it reads "too hot" and will not turn on the oven
I will suggest you reset your oven, press the on, off and cancel on the oven, this will help unlock the oven. Also, you will need to give the oven enough time to cool down before you operate the oven.
Alright, here is what may have happened. There is a thermal fuse that is prone to blow when you use the self cleaning feature since it heats up hotter than normal. Possibly this fuse just needs to be replaced and you should be set. First try unplugging the oven to reset it. Leave it unplugged for about 30 minutes to fully discharge and try it, if it doesn't work, then order a new thermal fuse. You can find it by removing the rear panel of the oven. You can order one through repairclinic.com, a local shop, or other various website. Let me know how this works out for you. Benjamin

Remove the RTD and measure with an ohm meter. The self cleaning cycle may have destroyed the RTD. It hould read about 1000 ohms at room temperature. Do not touch the RTD while measuring it is very sensitive to changes in temperature. The RTD is located at the rear of the oven chamber in either the top left or top right. It looks like a metal rod. Make sure the oven is unplugged and the gas line is shutoff before working on your oven. Not saying this is the problem but it is a good place to start. Good luck!
Unplug the unit or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Plug the unit back in or turn on the circuit breaker. Set the clock and gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door. or Set the self-clean cycle again and only allow it to work for 15 minutes. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door. If these procedures fail to correct the condition, the lock must usually be accessed and moved manually to open the door. Some model ovens require the oven door to be manually unlatched before the controls are returned to the OFF position or else the door may not be able to be unlocked. Check the owner's manual for proper operating procedures.
