On the starter of the engine there are two teminals that should have 12volts to them while its cranking (or trying to) one has a 3/8 bolt stud and has a large wire/cable that should go to either the battery disconnect or direct to battery , the other one is 1/8" size and has a smaller wire to it , this is the trigger wire , it triggers the starter to operate , your going to need to look at those voltages when its trying to operate
Thank you for the advice. Although I've tried and am receiving 12.8vlts on both main positive and trigger wire yet am still getting same result as my generator still isnt cranking. Please help.Thank you for the advice. Although I've tried and am receiving 12.8vlts on both main positive and trigger wire yet am still getting same result as my generator still isnt cranking. well as I said above if your getting those voltages at those places , your gonna need to replace the starter its not working , an alternative to replacement is to have it repaired/rebuilt look in you local yellow pages for shops that rebuild starters and alternators for cars/trucks they will better informed to know what method is less expensive (disconnect battery 1st when removing starter )well as I said above if your getting those voltages at those places , your gonna need to replace the starter its not working , an alternative to replacement is to have it repaired/rebuilt look in you local yellow pages for shops that rebuild starters and alternators for cars/trucks they will better informed to know what method is less expensive (disconnect battery 1st when removing starter )
