I have a La Pavoni Professional (Brass and Copper???) that was given to me by someone who's husband had passed away and it has been sitting unused for about 5 years. It wouldn't heat up, and upon inspection the heating element is fried (the coils are soft and broken). I'm sure that it needs new gaskets and obviously the element at the very least. My question is, does anyone now if it is cost prohibitive to fix something like this, or should I just buy a new one?
Hi there, It is very cost effective to fix and not buy a new one if you haven't already. A new element and gasket kit would set you back about £80 where a new machine of this same spec will set you back at least £700 for the brass and copper or even more. You can purchase parts from our website www.theespressoshop.co.uk and we send all over the world. I hope i have caught you before you purchase a new one and i would also ask that if you have not thrown the other one away i would be happy to take it off your hands at the right price. You can contact me at [email protected]
