I have a Lasko Model 5532 electric heater. It has suddenly started shutting off often. I run it through the reset procedure (unplug 5-10 minutes, then restart) and that gets it going again, but then it will only stay on a few more minutes. It never reaches the temp that the themostat is set at, so I know that is not the reason it is turning off. It will not restart unless I go through the reset procedure

I had the same problem. I actually just blew on the back of the heater to get the dust buildup off of the filter. This seemed to help a lot and now my heater works.
All of these space heaters have thermal protection units in them. They are safety that shuts the unit down if it starts to overheat.If your fan is operating, then it sounds like the thermal protection circuit is faulty, and you'll need to contact Lasko for a replacement. These units do not have parts that can be purchased due to their UL compliance. Check the fan though, it might be obstructed. I have seen that more than once....Rob
