I have a Loewe Articos 55 HD, when we turn it on it makes a consistent loud buzzing noise. We spoke to a Loewe tech over the phone and he said that it would cost in excess of $2500 to fix - which seemed a bit extreme?

Replace the color wheel and remove the fan blowing on the engine, its forceing dust into the wheel area, the wheel will last about 14-18 months, removeing the fan will extended life 2-4 years, there will be no heat issues with the fan removed, some models or later production runs will not have this fan
