I HAVE A NEW HOME (JANONE) 1860 MODEL JD1818 SEWING MACHINE. I HAD FINISHED SEWING A PROJECT AND NOW IT UNTHREADS THE NEEDLE WHEN I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO SEW THE FIRST DOWN TURN OF THE NEEDLE. I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE NEEDLE, CHANGED THE TENSION ON THE TOP, CHANGED OUT THE THREE TYPES OF BOBBINS I HAVE, TWO METAL AND ONE PLASTIC. WHAT SUGGESTIONS DO YOU HAVE FOR MY PROBLEM. THANKS
Be sure, when you thread the top thread, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot. Pull at least 4 or 5 inches of thread tail through the needle eye BEFORE taking the first stitch. ALWAYS RAISE the needle to its highest position before beginning the first stitch. It may also help to grasp the 2 thread tails in your left hand when taking the first stitch so the thread will not pull back through the needle.
Read the manual and go through the needle threading and bobbin winding procedure step by step as if you were a novice. I believe the bobbin is ether wound or installed backwards.
