I have a Nortel phone system with a T7316E phone with 2 lines instances, I want to add a 2nd line with a different phone number. how do I do this? Thank you Frank
A "T" phone connects to a Nortel system cabinet, a CICS, MICS, or BCM unit. The lines appear on a connector that is punched down on a frame. If you don't have installation and programming instructions for the system, you probably need to call a professional installer.
You need to contact your phone provider and arrange to have a 2nd phone land line install to your premises and have the outlet installed next to your Nortel. The provider will allocate a new phone number for this 2nd phone line.
When you activate the second line with your service provider tell them that you need both lines to come through the same jack. Then simply connect a line to each of the connections under the device and you are good to go. Call ID and other features are all setup automatically
have you service provider run your second line through the same jack and simply place one jack in each of the "Line" receptors on the bottom of the unit. Simply select the line you want to call from before you pick up the handset to identify the intended outbound number. All incoming calls will still come in as though there where two phones.have you service provider run your second line through the same jack and simply place one jack in each of the "Line" receptors on the bottom of the unit.
