It's unlikely that the BIOS itself has been "erased".
The BIOS is "software", recorded on a small "Eraseable Programmable Read Only Memory" chip.
It takes a piece of hardware, an 'EPROM-writer' to update the contents of the chip. Or, the BIOS can be updated by a "BIOS-update" from the manufacturer of the motherboard.
The BIOS has "settings" -- the battery on the motherboard should supply a "trickle" current to the chip that holds those "settings" -- like an alternator provides a "trickle" charge to recharge your automobile's battery.
Try using the "BIOS reset" jumper on the motherboard, to reset those "settings" to their default value, and then try to boot the motherboard.
