I have a Phillips older model TV with red, white and yellow inserts on the side, I hooked it up once to play the DVD and it has stopped what am I doing wrong or can you tell me how to get it going again?

You probably just need to select the input from the TV setup or the remote. Most have multiple selections such as "antenna" "cable" "HDMI" or AUX... flip through them until you find the one that works. Good luck.
