Additionally, when calling someone on Skype, they say that it often sounds like "paper is crinkling over the mic," and that the mic works perfectly at the beginning of the call and then quickly begins to malfunction. I have a Gateway laptop that is around 3 years old, if that makes any difference, and I use Windows 7.
