I have a Princeton VL173 Monitor and when I switch it on the screen comes up for about 2 seconds then goes blank, and each time I switch it on and off by the monitor it only stays up for a second or two. I would appreciate any advice, thanking you in advance

Would think that this one could be a bad capacitor problem. The unit is pretty easy to dissasemble, and remove the screen itself from the housing, look at the power board, the main board in the middle of the unit, and see if you see any bulged or leaking capacitors. they look like little beer cans...should be flat on top. If you see any bulged or leaking capacitors, order replacements at mouser.com and replace them with a soldering iron. Should fix the problem. Bad caps are a very common problem in all kinds of electronics.
