I have a problem where the heater ignites easily, stays lit for 30 seconds, then turns off, then kicks back up in 30 seconds. Burners look great? Not sure what could be wrong?

If you have a pilot their will be a flame sensor that's part of it. If this is a glow plug start it will be a probe that goes through the fire wall and is just above the burners. When you get flame the electrons align so that you will get a signal back at the ignition control that will let teg heater run. If it dosn't get a signal it shuts down so you don't get a build up of gas. Then it reset's and tries again. What your describing is a bad sensor or wire. Could be carbon build up on the sensor. If you can't find any problems with these you may have a bad ignition control box. First I would check the wire, connectors and probe itself.
When it does fire up, the burners fire and glow great all the way across so i think the signal runs through to fire it, then runs, then shuts down? What sensor or wire are you talking about that could be bad? Thank you
It will fire and run but it shuts down because it dosen't rcognise the flame. The sensor is the flame sensor I described before depending on what sort of ignition system you have (standing pilot or glow plug) The wire is the one that runs from it to the ignition control. If it dosn't read a signal it shuts the gas down. So yes it will fire as you described in the orignal problem but if it dosn't fire it will shut the gas off. Even if it has fire it won't nesserly read the fire and shuts down anyway, this falls under the heading of the problem. So at the risk of repeating myself. The sensor will be found on the pilot assembly or in the firewall just above the burners about in the center of the wall.
