I have a puma LA-5706 hotcdog compressor. The unit build pressure and when it reaches the cut off pressure it leaks back out what seams to be the pressure valve. Do I replace the pressure valve or check valve

YOU CAN TRY TO SPRAY SOME LUBRICANT ON IT, THEN TAP ON IT A LITTLE WITH A SMALL WRENCH NOT HAMMER IT CAN BREAK! TRY IT.
