I have a Reddy heater 30-55,000 btu.. When lighting it I press in the initer for the recomended time but after I release it the flame goes out.. Can you tell me why?
It seems as if you are not holding the igniter long enough after it fires, have you tried holding the igniter down for a few seconds more to allow the safety cut out to warm up, (Similar to the gas heaters, when ignited keep the flame going for the thermal coupling to heat up), If you do this and it still goes out the safety valve is faulty, but try holding it in longer before messing about with the coupling.
