I have a RISO model GR1700. I took the drum out of its cradle. Before I placed the drum back into the cradle that holds it, the cradle got shoved back into the machine. It is now locked in postion and I can't release it so I can pull it back out to put the drum back in
Does the end of the drum have a gear on it. Some use a shaft with a flat side into a plastic bushing. I think you may just have some gears catching unless something is broken off. Just shut the door and turn on the power switch for just a second. The gears should at least cherp. They may move just enough for you to pull it out. Try it a few times and see if that helps you. Otherwise hook a chain to the back of your pick-up and pull hard.
Locate the microswitch that tells the machine that the drum is present. Drop the transfer section to get a better look. You can cheat it and also you can cheat the door interlock so you dont have to keep shutting the door.
