I have a rockford p4004 and the protection light is staying on and am not getting anything out of the amp to my subs. what can i do. i hooked up a different amp to it and it worked fine

The unit is internally grounded. Something has broken inside and grounding out the power, the amp will need to be serviced or trashed. Try calling Fosgate. They may have a serviceman or "fix it" department
