I have a Royal Sovereign portable AC Model ARP1000 ES. Last summer I heard a loud bang and then it sounded as if the fan blades inside where hitting against the insides - like it had fallen off what it was secured to. It will turn on just fine, but it sounds like a mac truck after something fell off inside. Any thoughts on this?

Hello, have you opened up the umit? It could be the fan blade loose on the motor shaft.
This is happening to me too. How do I open up the unit. I have tried and it only seems to open up the front.
