I have a SAMSUNG ST100 camera and 3 black lines are showing on my screen and its not scratched any where. It hasent been exposed to any sun, water nothing that can damage it. Its been put away safely. Can i disassemble it myself just to take a look?
Maria, As long as the lines don't appear on the pictures (check the pictures on your computer) don't try to repair this. For opening a camera you need to have electronic skills and special tools. Then there still is a chance the defect can't be repaired without exchanging the display or even the motherboard. In both cases I think it is more expensive to repair then to buy a new camera. If you can live with the lines and they don't show up on the pictures, please don't try this yourself. If you really want to ignore my advice, please visit ifixit.com and see if they already did your Samsung. There they show how to open and close most electronic equipment. They also sell the tools you could need and can help with spare parts. If they are for sale from Samsung.
