I have a Sceptre x22 gamer that has been serving me well for about two years. A week ago I started having trouble getting the monitor to ''Wake Up'' after the computer goes to sleep or when rebooting. It has become so bad recently that I had to turn the monitor on and wait 15 minutes before it would start to display anything. I don't think it is an issue with the inputs as there is usually a blue display that comes up whether anything is plugged in or not. Usually you are able to switch modes while nothing is plugged in, I.E. DVI , Digital, VGA. However the screen has ceased to display anything. The blue power light blinks and none of the controls give any response. Update: I plugged the monitor into another power cable and it started making a clicking sound. Couldn't tell if it was the speakers or not. This happens whenever I plug the monitor in now, a very regular click with a faint high pitch right before it, like clockwork
Computers & Internet - Sceptre - x22wg Gamer Monitor
My problem with my Sceptre 22 Gamer monitor started today. I had a space lcd which I connected and the spare works fine (not a computer or connection problem).
It sounds like these monitors are somehow engineered to fail at the 2 year point.
I attached it to a spare computer that I booted into safe mode, but I did not even see a flicker on the screen. I left it alone and then all of the sudden I turned and noticed that the display was now working. I disconnected it from my spare computer and reconnected to my main desktop and the blue light on the monitor started just kept blinking and the monitor never powered up.
Warcryofjuda, One of the guys that I work with brought in a small screen Sceptre DTV/DVI/VGA +audio unit. and it also has a optional TV/tuner module. mod S1701DTV with side mounted speakers. The viewable screen size is 14"w x 8.75"h . Oh! First things first! Turn it OFF and leave it off. Disconnect it and put it in a safe place for now. IT'S BROKE!! It will not work today, and it will not work tomorrow or the next day. Got that? Ok! Now I want to know if you would like to work together with me and explore both of these monitors and possibly come up with a fix for them? Please get back to me via my email with what ever approach you feel is best for you. We have already opened up our unit and I will try to attach some pic's for you to compare your unit with. I'm louie12fix on fixya or [email protected] Bye for now.

I am pissed. Hopefully it can be fixed somehow.
