I have a sg14s pitco fryer. Gas valve was bad so i installed new one. Pilot lights fine but when you put gas valve in the on position burners immediatly lights. What is my problem? Thermostat and limit switch ohm out fine

When you turn the gas valve knob to "on" position, burners should not fire-up if the thermostat is "off", if it does, the thermostat's mechanical contacts inside may be shorted (will not be able to control temp anymore) and must be replaced with a good one>
