Thanks for the input. You are correct, although I didn't see this until 9 months after I fixed it. I ended up removing all the LED strips and connecting three 9-volt batteries to my voltage meter's leads and basically turned my voltage meter into a temporary power supply. Supplying the strips with voltage I was able to see which LED's were burnt out. I ordered 50 individual LED's from china for about $9. Using a hot plate heating element under a microscope I was able to replace just the burned out LED's. Once the burned out ones were replaced, the entire strip lit up like a christmas tree. I think there were no more than 6 to 8 that needed replacing. All 66-ish are now working great. I forget the actaul number but that could be it. I turned the backlight down to 50% to try to make sure that doesn't happen again. My only concern is why they burned out to begin with. Doing the math I feel theres just too many volts coming from the power supply but I'm not smart enough to confirm. Seems to me each LED is receiving 3.9-ish volts when only 3V is required.
