I have a simpletech signature mini 250gb hard drive. When i plug it into certain computers it will open but on my new laptop asus eee 1005ha running windows 7 starter it won't open. It was originally hooked up to a dell inspiron running XP which crashed awhile ago. Any thoughts? Thanks

You do realise that for a basic understanding when code it written fior auto-configure products this includes the code that auto-configures in the first few steps of the start up procedure,Not all products are auto-compatable usually because of build -date ultimatums and a constantly changeing product market
