I have a Simplicity SE3 embroidery machine. Last week it was dong great. Started a test stitch out last night and noticed there were some skipped stiches on top and some on the bottom - I replaced the needle and now it will not pick up the bobbin thread at all. I tried a new bobbin and new thread - rethreaded my machine, removed the bobbin case and cleaned the track and area several times. Looking at the manual, it looks like everything is threaded as it should be but it won't pick up the bobbin thread. I have probably had this machine 9 or 10 years and this is the 1st time this has happened
Skipped stitches can be caused by incorrect thread tension, bad needles, or by using the wrong needle size for your material. Check thread tension and try using more or less pressure on the foot pedal. As for the issues with the bobbin, it could have happened when you changed out the thread.
Try reinstalling the bobbin. Clean bobbin case and the shuttle with alcohol and make sure it can move easily. Ensure the bobbin is securely installed into the bobbin case; check that you have correctly threaded the bobbin case; and check to see that bobbin has been wound evenly.
I have cleaned the bobbin case with alcohol, put in a new bobbin, rethreaded the machine several times, used a magnifying glass to look and see if there were any tiny threads stuck anywhere and it still will not pick up the bobbin thread. This is the embroidery only machine - no foot pedal. Do you have any other ideasI have cleaned the bobbin case with alcohol, put in a new bobbin, rethreaded the machine several times, used a magnifying glass to look and see if there were any tiny threads stuck anywhere and it still will not pick up the bobbin thread.
