I have a Singer 237 in very good condition. The motor runs great when in bobbin mode but the needle will barely move when in sewing mode. I have oiled it but does not seem to help. Any suggestions?

If it hasn't been used for a long time, the old oil has probably turned to glue. The following may be helpful:
