The line is probably in correspondence of the low Y buffer board, located inside the TV and connected to plasma display. In that case the board must be replaced to fix the problem. One of the symptoms of a defective low buffer board is a black line that starts from the bottom of the TV.
I have the same problem with a thin black line running horizontally across the center of the screen on a 50 inch panasonic commercial panel. The solution above speaks to a "black line that starts from the bottom of the TV" That sounds like a vertical line. Did you mean a horizontal black line or vertical one?
If you meant a horizontal line, would the line through the middle of my panel be the result of the same low buffer board or another board?
