I have a SmartDisk FireLite Model Number USBFLB40-C. I took it to some local data recovery specialists, but I think they said the motor was out. They said I'd have to send it into the company. However, I can't find SmartDisk online. Any ideas how I can recover this data? It's got some really precious photos from Africa that I was going to use for an article or book. Thank you! After a quick check, it seems as if SmartDisk have disappeared off the face of the earth (or at least the internet). Strange. I did find the following phone number (which you may have also found in your search), it might be worth trying that if you haven't already (note I have not checked it myself, so no idea if it still works): 01252 530960 Note also this is a UK number (I can't find a US one). To be quite honest, I doubt this will work. If that doesn't work, then I'm afraid there's not a lot you can do yourself if its the motor that has broken. The next move would be to take it back to the recovery specialists, explain your situation, and see if they can recommend anyone who might be able to replace the motor (if they won't do it themselves). By the way, thanks for clearly wording your question, it makes life a lot easier when people do that.
