I have a sony digital handycam dcr-pc103e. Suddenly the zoom is not working: it is stuck zoomed all the way in so I can hardly see anything through the lens. I tried to disassemble it (i'm really bad at this) and touch the switch a bit and when I turned it on again it seemed to work for a bit, but a few days later it happened again. Does anyone know the cost of this getting repaired? I assumed it needs to have the switch piece changed. Or if there's any way that I could fix this at home. Thank you!

This camcorder is an earlier model thus the zoom control motor could be weak, if so open it and take out the camera section and unscrew the zoom control motor, loosen it, some sort of sticky grease on the worm gear also obstructs, clean it with small brush or cotton bud. then apply a little silicon grease. don't let dust go in.
