Make sure the MUTE function has not been activated. Try turning up the volume level. Check that there are no headphones connected. Check if the issue also occurs to other device connected to the TV. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00023449
Thanks for your reply. So the tv seems to be working. The only issue is that I cant see the picture but if I point a flashlight at it, I can see the picture faintly.
